Tasmanian land tax
The Tasmanian State Revenue Office (SRO) says it has extended the time to pay land tax bills by three months to assist taxpayers suffering personal and financial loss from the bushfires. Taxpayers with billing addresses in postcodes 7173 to 7180 (inclusive) do not have to do anything; the extension of time (to Friday 5 April 2013) will apply automatically. The SRO says taxpayers with billing addresses outside of the 7173 to 7180 postcode range who have land tax to pay on property lost or damaged in any fire-affected areas of Tasmania should seek access to the extension by calling the SRO on 03 6233 8070, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 4:00pm.
